Aerobatic Rating
Pre-Requisites.
To apply for the Aerobatic Rating, you must have logged at least 30 hours of flight time as a PIC after receiving your license.
With the Aerobatic Rating, you are officially authorised to perform a variety of aerobatic maneuvers in aeroplanes or touring motor gliders. This rating not only enhances your flying skills but also allows you to engage in thrilling aerobatic activities that showcase the capabilities of the aircraft. Aerobatics involves a series of maneuvers that require precision, control, and a deep understanding of the aircraft's performance characteristics.
The training course for obtaining the Aerobatic Rating consists of a minimum of 5 hours of intensive aerobatic flight instruction. During this course, you will learn essential techniques and maneuvers that are fundamental to aerobatics, such as loops, rolls, and spins. Each flight session is designed to build your confidence and enhance your ability to execute complex maneuvers safely and effectively. The training typically includes both ground school and in-flight instruction, where you will gain theoretical knowledge about aerodynamics, aircraft limitations, and safety protocols, as well as practical experience in handling the aircraft during aerobatic manoeuvers.
By the end of the training, you will not only have the skills required to perform aerobatics but also a greater appreciation for the complexities and joys of flying.
